Project description:
Commissioning of pipelay vessel to lay 48” rigid pipeline. Project focus is on vessel modifications and subsequent pipeline installation.
OI’s scope of work: Diverter beam
- The diverter beam was used in test phase of the equipment in fire line. Purpose of the diverter beam was to guide steel rope attached to the crane on one side, and tensioners in fire line at the other side.
- OI team was responsible for concept design of the test and strength verification of the diverter beam and A-Frame.
- The strength of the A-Frame and the diverter beam was verified using Ansys Mechanical software.
