JOWP - Feeder Barge Mooring Feasibility

HESI

Project description:
Jeonnam Offshore Wind Power Corp. (“JOWP”), the first Korean large-scale commercial offshore wind project consists of 10WTG locations with an output power of 99 MW. Jeonnam Offshore Wind Farm 1 (JN1) is at approximately 8 km away from shore.
HESI are required to install the monopiles via upending from a feeder barge. A sheerleg barge and jack-up vessel will be used to achieve this.

OI’s scope of work:

  • OI performed 4-point mooring study to assess the required positioning and sizing to provide sufficient clearance of the bow midline buoys from the shear leg mooring lines for three different water depths considering the LAT/HAT range of the field.
  • A bollard pull requirement assessment for the (2) tug boats was performed to determine the required installation spread.
