N-Sea

Project description:
TenneT and N-Sea have signed a three-year Service Level Agreement (SLA) for cable repair services in the nearshore and offshore sections. The agreement covers all cables in Germany and the Netherlands, which are owned and operated by TenneT. These systems include both HVDC and HVAC cables, with a total circuit length of approximately 4,000 km.

OI’s scope of work:
N-Sea has contracted OI to provide Project Engineering support for the Subsea Cable Department. The work involved:
Preparing Execution Documentation for the Cable Repair scenario’s:

  • Cable transport procedures
  • Cable Loading procedure
  • Anchor handling operations
  • Platform preparation procedure
  • Cable de-burial & re-burial
  • Crew transfer procedure
  • Mobilization plan
  • Weather Assessment procedure
  • Cable Repair procedures for Intertidal sector with Barge
  • Cable Repair procedures for Shallow water with Barge on Anchors
  • Cable Repair procedures for Offshore sector with DP2 vessel
  • Platform pull-in procedure
