Seagreen 1A - Foundation Grillage & Seafastening Study

SSE Renewables

Project description:

Seagreen 1A (SG1A) is proceeding into detailed design with a suction caisson jacket design. The foundations will be built in China and marshalled in a UK port that supports load-out by the stern to/from a heavy transportation vessel.

For this project, OI has been contracted to perform a concept design study on the Grillage and Seafastening of 35 SG1A jackets, loading up to four jackets per time on a HTV.

OI’s scope of work:

The present study provided a feasible concept for the grillage geometry, installation procedure, weight and cost suitable for the transportation of the SG1A jackets. Firstly individual grillages have been analysed in a Base Concept study, then, for the Optimized Scope, the HTV and aft jacket was added to the model to incorporate stiffness effect on the calculation.
