Project description:
Commissioning of pipelay vessel to lay 48” rigid pipeline. Project focus is on vessel modifications and subsequent pipeline installation.
OI’s scope of work:
Test of tensioners in fire line – YoYo test
- OI was responsible for an engineering package for the load test of the tensioners in fire line of the vessel. At the stern of the ship special device was installed. The strength of the hull structure had to be checked, as well as weldments and fabrication details.
- Software used for strength assessment was Ansys Mechanical workbench.
