Project description:
The goal of this project is to create a calculation tool which is closer to proprietary or licensed tools such as StablePIPE, StableLines and PILSS. It will also be tailored to the needs of the company in order to perform analyses for on-bottom stability and soil interaction scopes for rigid and flexible pipes, cables, and umbilicals.
The tool will be developed using Excel, which allows for easy use and a well-known visual interface for any user.
Recommended practices DNV-RP-F109 and DNV-RP-F114 will be followed an interpreted at all times. Derived recommendations from DNV and other reference reports will be used as required.
OI’s scope of work:
- Perform research on the current state-of-the-art OBS findings and papers
- Develop VBA code and Excel formulae as per DNV requirements.
- Apply visual interface aspects (formatting and printing)
- Repeat continuous improvement cycle until a sufficiently stable and complex version is reached
