Project description:
Four export circuits connect the Gwynt-Y-Môr offshore wind farm to the onshore National Grid connection system. The owner of the assets (“the OFTO”) has identified a power core fault in a section of one of the subsea power cables. This fault has resulted in reduced availability of the OFTO assets to 75%. The contractor N-sea has been awarded to perform the required repair.
OI’s scope of work:
Support N-sea by performing the required analyses for the cable repair scope of work using Orcaflex. This includes the following analyses:
- Landfall pull-in analysis
- Cable recovery analysis (prepared by OSV)
- Cable jointing analysis
- Omega joint overboarding analysis
