Umbilical Load Out Analysis, Moss Norway

RTA Offshore

Project description:

An umbilical load out into a turntable in a cargo vessel in Moss (Norway) was attempted without success. A bigger tower for the loadout was then to be installed and an intermediate support barge between the quayside and the vessel was introduced.

Several load out analyses, drawings and calculations were requested for this new configuration.

OI’s scope of work:

  • Load out static analysis between quayside roller supports and the top of the tower (scope on max tension and clearance between umbilical and vessel).
  • Load out static analysis between the top of the tower and the turntable (scope on reaction forces and moments at tower arm for different orientations)
  • Umbilical bending stiffness sensitivity analysis for former tower arm (engineering claim)
  • New tower seafastening drawings*

*Calculations made by RED TO GREEN (sister company)
