XML Automated Reporting

Project description:
Major systems engineering companies in naval, aerospace and defense sectors use a common source programming language in order to manage their technical documentation on a big scale in an efficient manner. They typically follow particular specifications (such as S1000D) and their own business rules, but commonly XML is the chosen language.
At OI, this option will be explored in order to understand its implementation feasibility and commercial possibilities.

OI’s scope of work:

• Perform research on the current state-of-the-art
• Establish time and cost of implementation versus advantages
• Coding a test using a free source XML editor
• Define outcome and conclusions
