Project description:
This project involves the structural modification of the research vessel RWS Asterias to enable the installation of a spud pole, a key element designed to improve the vessel’s stability and operational performance during offshore activities. The modification supports enhanced capabilities for precise subsea operations.
OI’s scope of work:
OI’s scope of work focused on performing structural analysis using ANSYS to evaluate the vessel’s local structure. The purpose of the analysis was to confirm that the vessel could safely support the additional loads from the spud pole installation, meeting all applicable safety requirements.
