Project description:
N-sea is undergoing modification of the NP459 barge. They require substantial upgrades in order to meeting their SLA obligations for future repair projects. N-sea contracted OI for support in the modification/suitability of the current chutes used onboard.
OI’s scope of work:
- Modelling of the NP459 and various chute options (45deg, 60deg and 75deg flare run out angles)
- Static assessment at various residual tensions (1kN, 5kN and 10kN)
- Dynamic assessment to gauge sensitivity of point loading effects at flare edge in shallow water.
- Ensure chutes can fit within the current highway design
